Narita

More than a gateway

Everyone once at the airport rush for buses, trains, taxis to get out as fast as possible. But in the case of Narita it could be worthy to take some time to visit the area.
The main reason will be to visit the Naritasan Shinshoji Temple, it’s a complex of several buildings set in a huge ground and a nice garden. Due to the size and the few people visiting, it gives a lovely atmosphere to the site.

So, if you have a couple of hours to spare or better if you decide to sleep at Narita because an early or a late flight, don’t hesitate to take a stroll in the area.
The city is at 15mn from the airport, the main road Omotesandō has an Edo style with many attractive shops and the temple with the park is not to miss.

Also good to know, there are few options from the airport to book a bus tour:
Narita Transit Program has a few places to be accompanied with a volunteer guide or not, in both cases it’s free of charge.
Welcome to Narita Select Bus Tours offered by JR Bus Kanto for 2000¥ in the morning or in the afternoon, possible to do both for 3500¥.
